Timp!

Last weekend we took a trip up to the cabin. We were going to hike Timp! We woke up, got ready, and headed out. We figured we would be fine, there was only a 30% chance of rain, but we didn't know if we would make it to the top, it was clouded in pretty bad.


Well about the time we hit the first falls we heard thunder, but we kept going. Pretty soon the thunder and lightning were only five seconds apart and it was starting to rain pretty hard. We were still headed up. We reached a river that we would have to cross. We stopped and talked and decided that we were going to get too cold and wet if we kept going so we turned around and headed down. The muddy rocks were so slick to climb down!


The paths were pretty wet and muddy!


Here we come! I remembered the Russian sun dance and song that i learned in Europe and tried to get my mom to do it with me. She attempted...:D But i had fun running down the hill singing it pretty close to the top of my lungs! It was great the rain stopped and the hike down wasn't rainy, just wet. I stopped singing and talked, and the rain began to pick up as we reached the car. Next time we are singing the Russian sun dance the entire time we hike!


We had to find other activities to be entertained with since we weren't hiking. Daniel showed the kids the finer points of sliding down the stairs in a box! It was fun to watch.

And Landon grabbed Poppy's hand and took him up for a nap, how cute!


Even though we weren't able to hike Timp, we still had a great time spending the day together!
