PrOm pRoM prom Prom PROM!

So the 21st was prom. Everyone kept telling me that prom wasn't everything that it was cracked up to be, and to not expect too much.
Well, they were right, prom wasn't all that it was cracked up to be...it was SO much better! You could even say it was like being Lost in a Dream.
Prom was so great, it was perfect. We had so much fun! Well at least i did, and Cody seemed to. :D I guess it could be confirming the quote that says
Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you react to it.
-Charles Swindoll

To start off the day, we had a day date. We were going hiking in Perry. But first everyone was supposed to meet at Cody's house. Cody got me at 10 and we were supposed to meet at his house at 10:30, needless to say, we were early, and everyone else was late. While waiting we decided to take some photos! Here is just one of them.

Look at us, aren't we stylin'!

I love that we are wearing rival jackets! He in his soccer, and me in volleyball. (they are rival only for the girls because those sports go on at the same time, so you have to choose between the two.)

We sat around chatting and having fun then about thirty minutes later, about 10:45 everyone else showed up. We had to get pictures of the group too, so we went out side. Here are some of those pictures.

Starting from left to right is Aaron Braithwaite and Clarissa Lunt, Cody Dean and Stephanie Hicken, Caitlin Crook and Nate Rapp, Jill Dallon and Kyle Braithwaite.
Don't we just look so excited for our hike!

This can't be good! After a half hour with me, he's ready to strangle me! He still has all night...evening with me. (it was funny after promenade, we were looking at pictures on his camera, and he told me that this picture was his favorite. I was like, oh, you should zoom in so i can see it better, when he did, he was a little shocked at the look on my face, it was great!)

So we headed off to the hike and we had a blast. It was REALLY hard for us to not get ahead of everyone else, they walked SO slow! So we would get ahead, then stop and talk waiting for them, it was way fun! Needless to say, we led the way, and chose some paths that I'm sure that no one else would have chosen on their own free will. There was a nice steep hill climb that we choose to sprint up. It was funny, i was trying so hard to sprint up it, but it felt like i was going no where! It was ridiculous! Cody just zoomed up it like it was nothing, darn people that are in shape! (not that I'm not, honestly, round is a shape! :D) So we got to the top and talked and enjoying the beautiful view of Willard Bay and the surrounding areas. It was so pretty! I'd show you pictures, but we didn't take a camera, so the only ones are on the cell phone, and i don't have the capabilities to get pictures from the phone to the computer. :( Oh well! :D

We hiked a while, and eventually snow showed up on the side of the path, so as we walked around a puddle of mud, i bent down got a snow ball, and hit Cody square in the back! He turned kinda shocked and i was like, who else would do it! He told me he was about to do the same, so i turned around to let him huck one at me, and he hit, too bad he is a good aim! When i turned back around, he started tossing snow at me, so i couldn't let him sin, so i did it back, and then he ran. CHICKEN! ha ha just kidding Cody! But we had lots of fun, and even did some of our own trail blazing.
Eventually we decided to head down, so i told Cody I'd race him down, and so off we went. We found some animals bones on the way down, since we decided to not use the trail. :D Cody came to the conclusion that it was a deer, i agreed. When we finally got to the flat part before the cars, i started to run, once i did i knew it was a mistake... Cody is a fast runner. So as i assumed he passed me, so i started to walk, so he just walked too. When we were about ten feet from the car, i started to sprint, and of course Cody could hear me coming up behind him, so he ran and easily beat me, but he missed me clip myself in the back of the leg with my foot, and almost biff it. It was great, i laughed at myself for a long time, i had to reenact it for him, but it wasn't half as good as the real thing!

Next we went to play Frisbee, ultimate Frisbee, at Lindsey park, and we had a blast! No matter what team Cody and I were on, we won! (no thanks to me. :) it was great, i could throw the Frisbee anywhere, and somehow Cody could always get it, just by running or diving. He was good at reading where it was going.) After many wins, we hopped into the car to take me home to get ready for Prom. When we got to my house, Amy and Tony, Daniel and Sharon, and Adam were all outside on the front lawn. What are the odds.

Getting ready was fun, but prom was better. In our bathroom, we had my hair dresser, Britnee Larragoitiy, my flower girl Cherish, my makeup and nail girls, Sharon and Amy, then my mom with the camera. We even had Brit Lloyd, Adams girlfriend in there supervising! Here are some pictures, it was so fun! Thank you to all for all your help and miracle working! I looked amazing because of you!

The final product, after the dance. We didn't take any before, but Cherish did!

And in the other room, we had the boys working on my dress, it still wasn't finished! My mom was a little fed up with it, so she called in her back up! I loved it because prom became a whole family event, almost everyone was able to help in some way.

Cody arrived just after the dress was finished, and my hair was done. I ran to my room to throw on the dress, and everyone told me how gorgeous i looked. We got everything together and looking good. Poor Cody was down stairs sitting on the couch in the living room, with everyone else. Adam and Brit, Tony, Daniel, my dad. Then the other girls went down, Sharon, Amy, eventually Brit and Cherish. My mom and i were the last ones, up in my room. I took one last glance in the mirror, then headed to the hall. At the top of the stairs i stopped to take a breath and then headed down, (do you know how funny it would have been if i would have fallen down the stairs!) Cody turned on the couch, noticed it was me coming down, and smiled. (good reaction Cody ;)) When i got down, one of my brothers whistled at me, making me laugh. Cody and i then exchanged flowers, i couldn't put his on because of my fake nails had just been put on, so i had my mom do it. (that had to be a little awkward, sorry!) Then we took some pictures. It is kinda funny the first one is one my parents took, the second is one his parents took. Look at the difference. :D

This is the picture of us showing our stuff at promenade. It was fun. We had many thoughts of what to do, and then all of the sudden we were up, and i had no idea what we were doing. Cody seemed to though, luckily he is a good leader, and i can follow...sometimes.

After it was over we decided to get some group pictures. Starting from left to right is Candie Richardson and Chris Durrans, Cody Dean and Stephanie Hicken, Sarah Eden and Kevin Butler.

This is how Cody "picked" his date. (Doesn't it look like he is picking my nose?) It's a great picture, everyone is paying so much attention!

This one turned out great, for me and Cody at least. I don't think that there is one that everyone is paying attention and smiling.

We had a great time, after promenade we went to Ogden to eat dinner. We got there at 5:30 and we were planning to meet the other couple there at 6:30 to eat. So i suggested that we go to RC Willey and try out their furniture :D or even just sit on the grass and play card games. Cody said we should go to RC Willey and play card games, so that is what we did. Cody was so good to help me out of the car, escort me everywhere, and open all the doors for me. When we got to RC Willey we found their dining tables and tried them out with a game of Skip-Bo. It was lots of fun, together Cody and I came up with a way to play so that we could be working as couples. It was a blast, and we ended up winning! It was awesome. At about 6 we decided to go get one of the beeper things from Olive Garden so we could eat at what we hopped would be 6:30. Our other couple showed up at 6:30 then we sat around talking for about a half hourish then we went in to eat. We had lots of fun. We decided to try to be so polite that they would hate us, i don't think it worked, but we had lots of fun with it. After dinner we headed up to the dance.

We were able to find campus fine, but finding the right place for the dance was a different story. Soon i spotted a limo, and so we followed it. We took our pictures, then went into the dance. It was a blast. Cody knows how to dance, so he attempted to teach me, i don't think he was too successfully. It was funny, he would ask me if i knew how to do dances, and i always told him, i don't know the names of things, you are just going to have to show me, and i will attempt to follow. It was way fun to actually be dancing, unlike mostly everyone else there.

He was great about making sure i never fell, even though i attempted to kill myself many times. It was so funny, one time we did a dip, and i stepped on my dress somehow, so in the process of getting me back on two feet, i was slipping, and so it threw him off balance, and we stumbled backwards into Skyler Law who was moon walking. It was so funny! I don't know how he did it, but we never fell over. It was so funny! We had a great time dancing, well at least i did, i seemed to keep him on his toes, he was probably wondering what he had gotten himself into, but i had a great time. The dance seemed so short unlike other school dances that seem so long, and you are only there for like an hour of it.

The whole day flew by fast, and i couldn't believe it was already over! A day that you hear of your entire life, and you wait and are excited for was over. Now the next big thing is graduation! The next time that all of us that grew up and went to school together we all be together again like that. That is so crazy! I'm growing up, and i don't feel like i am. I feel like me and Maddy should still be calling each other to play barbies or house, or something! Not be getting ready to graduate high school and go to college and then...married, that is weird, and so close! Ah!!! Maybe I'll just have to go on a mission.

Thank you so much Cody for such a fabulous date! I can't wait to see those pictures that came Friday!
